Northamin Devon is north of Bideford and close to Appledore and Westward Ho!. It is believed to be the site of an Anglo-Saxon castle where Hubba the Dane attacked Devon and was repelled by Alfred the Great or by the Earl of Devon. Northam Burrows are a Site of Special Scientific Interest and the Royal Devon Golf Club is the oldest in England.
St Margaret’s Anglican Church has been here for at least seven centuries and an earlier church on this same place since Norman times.
